This live edge piece of black walnut is roughly 13″ x 41″ and is over 2″ thick. It’s mounted to a reclaimed, 1900’s era, cast iron Singer sewing machine base. Table height is 30″.
I added a black walnut bow tie to each end to stabilize a couple cracks that are common in slabs this thick, and add a little character to the piece. Gloss urethane finish really brings out the grain of the wood and adds to the contrast between the light sapwood and dark heartwood.
