Engineer, woodworker, and general jack-of-all-trades…

Hi. I’m Jeff, owner and builder at Out of the Woodwork.

I meandered into woodworking back in 2009 when I began building furniture and cabinets for my home.  Relying on my background in engineering and skills my Uncle Daryl taught me during summer construction jobs, I soon expanded to creating and building projects for friends and family.  I enjoy being able to take a blank slate, or plank rather, and turning into a unique piece that is not only functional but also aesthetic.

Nurse, ideator, and boy-mom (enough said!)…

I’m Aimee and I am in charge of marketing and promoting, creating decor and assisting in design and build.

Growing up, I always loved creating and crafting.  From Barbie clothes as a kid to beaded jewelry as a young adult, I found enjoyment in adorning things.  Drawing from that inspiration and the sense of humor required to be a pediatric nurse, I love creating whimsical and personal pieces that define a specific taste.

Friends of Out of the Woodwork:

  • Amaral Mills: | I get most of my lumber at Amaral Mills in northern RI. Rich typically has a good amount of pine and oak in stock and will sometimes have more exotic hardwoods like cherry, walnut, and hickory.  He’ll custom cut boards to your specifications
  • Penalty Box Design: | Kevin does graphic design and web design.  Look no further than this site for examples of his work.  Kevin created the Out of the Woodwork website and the OWW logos.
